MEDTECH

  • You will pass medication and assist with self-administration of medication as required by state law.
  • You will supervise the storage, distribution, and discontinuation of residents’ medication.
  • You will maintain continued compliance with the policies and procedures of Compass Senior Living, including those as outlined in the Quality Counts Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  • Provides adjunct care by administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, ice packs, heat treatments.
  • Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine and recording intake and output information.
  • Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; answering patients’ call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping patient information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations, and maintaining licensure.

Compensation starts at $18.25/hour and with experience such as: CNA Certification and verifiable Memory Care experience, additional compensation may be available. A signing bonus is available. Please submit your info to apply and we can talk!

Position Requirements:

  1. Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  2. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  3. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  4. Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
  5. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
  6. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
  7. Must meet certification requirements of the State of Idaho, CPR/First Aid, Assistance with medications, specialty education requirements, Food Handler’s, etc… within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Must be able to move, sit, stand, bend and walk intermittently throughout the work day.
  2. Must demonstrate mental stability and the ability to cope with the physical and mental stresses of the position.
  3. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  4. Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds on an intermittent basis.

Organizational Structure:

  1. The MEDTECH reports to the RN or Executive Director, as applicable.

Physical Environment:

  1. Works in well-lighted and ventilated areas throughout the facility.
  2. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during work hours.
  3. Will be subject to frequent interruptions and variations in routine.
  4. Will be involved with residents, personnel, visitors government agencies, etc… under all conditions and circumstances.
  5. May be subject to hostile and emotional upset residents, family members, personnel and visitors.
  6. May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc… during the work day.
  7. May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc… including exposure to the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.  Exposure category I.

Responsibilities

Documentation:

  1. Record all entries in charts, etc…, in an informative and descriptive manner, following facility policies related to the use of abbreviations.
  2. Documents medications according to facility policies and state regulations.

Communications:

  1. Report all changes in resident condition to the RN.
  2. Report all complaints and grievances made by residents, their families or others to the Executive Director.
  3. Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
  4. Answer the phone in a professional manner, taking messages, as needed.

Environment:

  1. Keep resident rooms, common rooms, hallways, kitchen and service areas clean and clear of clutter.
  2. Assist with non-direct resident care tasks, including, but not limited to: cleaning, laundry, cooking and transportation to and from resident appointments.
  3. Keep current on knowledge of Fire Safety, MSDS and Disaster Management practices.

Professional:

  1. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  2. Must be flexible to the needs of the residents and the facility, to assure adequate staffing and appropriate resident care.
  3. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.Car
